  Description: Climbing shrubs, branchlets glabrous. Leaves alternate, 8-11 x 4-7 cm, ovate, apex acute, base rounded, rugose, shortly petiolate. Flowers in axillary spikes, bisexual; calyx minute, 4-toothed; petals 4, united into an urceolate tube, 4 mm long, lobes valvate, reflexed; stamens 4, free; disc 4-lobed, lobes erect, tridentate; ovary oblong, 1-celled, ovule 1, style cylindric; stigma capitate, 4-lobed. Fruit a drupe; seed 1.
