Widespread throughout the region and can be locally common. It is dimorphic and the sexes look similar to each other except for a wide white band on the forewings of the female. Multivoltine with several broods per annum. Information about this species is sketchy and further study is needed.

Regional Distribution:  India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines

Habitat:  tropical or subtropical broadleaf forest, up to 800m a.s.l.                              Wingspan:  70-90mm

Flight time:  most of the year, depending on location

Larval Hosts:  Anacardium occidentale (Anacardiaceae), Diospyros blancoi, Diospyros candolleana, Diospyros malabarica, Diospyros melanoxylon (Ebenaceae), Lithocarpus sp. (Fagaceae), Garcinia dulcis (Clusiaceae).  Hosts used depends upon location and availability of plant species.

Adult Food Sources:  Nectar - not known if this species visits flowers for nectar.  Other - mud puddling, over-ripe fruit, tree sap
