The Beast From the East

Time to get started with a save. I have struggled to stay engaged with FM for a few years now, so I thought I would give documenting my save here a go. Hopefully that will keep me interested. I will give you some info on the save and some goals for the save. I will keep it brief as I don't want to bore people to much.

  • Dynamo Dresden are very successful club from East Germany with 7 DDR league titles.
  • Only played 4 seasons in Bundesliga. Last time was 94/95 season
  • Spent the rest of the time between 2. Bundesliga and Regional German Football.
  • Club have played 98 games of European football. Last time was in 1991
  • Lots and lots of rivals and Derbies. Too many to list. But the most interesting going forward will be with RB Leipzig, another club from Sachsen region of Germany. Other notable rivals are Union Berlin and nearly every other club from East Germany. I will probably post updates when we get to some of these rivalries.
  • Time to the fortunes of this club around. They are massive and i think should be playing Bundesliga football.

Aims for the Save

  • Win absolutely everything. Bundesliga, Champions League etc
  • Have some International stars at the club. Hopefully some homegrown too.
  • Balon d'Or winner
  • New stadium or expansion

First Season Aims

Get promoted. I fully expect this as we are the best team in this league. To be honest we are probably a mid to top half 2. Bundesliga team. Have a go the DFB Pokal.

I will post updates of things that i think will be interesting. Transfers, big games etc.

  • wicksyFM changed the title to [FM23] - Dynamo Dresden - The Beast From the East

Just thought i would post a screenshot of the tactic i will be using. Probably will change a little bit, but it will almost always be some form of 433 formation.

We are short in the AMR position as Gogia is the only left footed player that can play their. But we have very little money to do anything. Although i have sold one player as he was moaning and wanted to leave. I will get round to having a look at a player for that position soon.

DFB POKAL 1st Round v RB Leipzig

Unbelievable draw for Dynamo against rivals RB Leipzig and our first Sachsen derby against them. First of many against them hopefully.

Didn't get the result we wanted but we played well and took them to extra time. Not a bad effort.

Players In

So here are the players we have brought in. None of them are fantastic. Although Vacca JR (free transfer) is quite a decent player. He has made me move into a deep 4231 formation. Basically just moved my BBM back in to DM and changed the role to a Segundo Volante. I know he can play as a CM but i just wanted to see what a deep 4231 was like. Finnsson is an Icelandic international signed from Dortmund for 50k. And Diallo (Free transfer) is backup to Gogia in AMR position. Both are rubbish.

And we have elections coming up. I have read that you can get all sorts of promises from the people standing. Transfers, money, stadium that sort of thing. Probably nothing but we will see.

Maybe changes the clubs vision and plans if someone new comes in

Time to get second half of the season under way. We are looking pretty comfortable really. Only defeat of the season came in the very first game to 1860 Munich. Players are starting to be disruptive. They all want contracts, squad players think they should be playing. They are just never happy. One day I'm hopeful SI can sort out these tedious player interactions

Not the worst intake. The three players that are classed as Elite are not bad at all.

Tebogo Khunwane (below) is probably my favourite. Looks like he could be a good Inside Forward for the future. Shame about his personality. I will have to try and get that sorted.

DYNAMO DRESDEN - 2022/23 Season Review

1.png.56664c17b4b58a93c10aff8f85c08ac5.png

Final table, and we are promoted as champions. We had only lost one game by the winter break. Not as good in second half of the season but we were still great. Bit easy this season really, but i did expect this. I think 4 defeats in the second half came about due to squad disruption. The players can not stop moaning about new contracts etc. DFB Pokal was a first round defeat to RB Leipzig.

Not much to say here really. Hopefully we see big improvements as the seasons go on. Facilities havent seen much improvement. Just a small increase to youth recruitment

Some stats and best 11 info for you to look at. Kutschke was outstanding with 29 goals and Kevin Ehlers solid at the back. Next season i will be looking to improve at RB and AMR as priorities. Also a younger striker. Despite his 29 goals Kutschke will be turning 35 next season.

Shame to see as loss some Hardcore and core supporters. Seems odd to me. I think we averaged 28k home attendance in the third tier. No idea why they would not want to come see us in 2. Bundesliga. Social media followers up, but still 0 supporters on the waiting list for season tickets. We will need that to improve to get that stadium expansion.

Next season the board want us to avoid relegation. I think with the right signings we are easily good enough for mid table/top half. The problem is getting the new signings in. We have a budget of 1.2m and an extra 90k in the wage budget, which is decent. But all my players want or need new contracts. And they dont want small wage increases. We are talking 8-12k on average. That's going to take lots of money away from my budgets. Don't know what we will have left after that.

Bundesliga 2 - 2023/24

Media Prediction

preview.png.7a55407557e388d41e7e10c6c925c5e6.png

I predicted that we would be a mid table team in Bundesliga 2 and that's what the media think too. Honestly, i think any of the teams 1-10 have a decent shot of promotion. Stuttgart should go up along with Augsburg and Hannover. Surely one of those team will slip up and maybe an outsider can have a go at getting one of the three promotion spots.

Players In

in.png.185e020ab326c10700daf8fdb357e4c6.png

These are the players we have brought in. We had a budget of 1.2m but i used nearly all of it renewing the contracts of my current players. We have done well to build a squad with two players in each position. kyu-Hyun was on loan with us last season so i decided to bring him in permanantly. Gorrin and Elmkies are decent option in the DM position. Goode at CB and Salcedo, Shoretire  and Soule come in as option on the wings and up front.

DFB Pokal Round 1 - Borrusia Monchengladbach

Out in the first round again. Another Bundesliga team. Hopefully next time we can get a kinder draw

Bundesliga 2 - 2023/24

Mid Season Break

fix.png.1b9b3404fe50d060c4a86a78ebf3269a.png

We go into the winter break in a really good position. I didn't expect to be top but I was hopeful we could be pushing for top three. Who knows where we would be without Kutschke. 35 years old and he has scored 14 in 15 games i think. Salcedo has had plenty of chances from the bench but he just isn't doing it. I think we might lose out to Stuttgart for top spot soon. They were much better than us and we lost 2-0. And again, we were promised another golden generation with the youth intake preview.

Transfer window will be quiet. No money or wage budget

Hopefully you can go up again.

Fingers crossed. We have definitely had a bit of luck. A few games we have had stoppage time goals that have got us some extra points that we probably didn’t deserve and injuries have been very kind to us

Congratulations to the title :)

Sad to see the youth intake nationality bug is still in the game...

I was not aware of any bug. But you might be right. Just had my second youth intake and i looked to see what could possibly be a bug. I noticed that every single player in my youth intake had a second nationality except one player. Double checked last seasons and it was exactly the same. Might not be a bug. I looked at other teams youth squads to see what was happening with their teams. I noticed that with the bigger clubs, Bayern, Dortmund etc, that they seem to have intakes that i would expect. They dont have as many second nationalities, probably about 20-30% have one. Smaller clubs, those in the second and third tiers seem to have majority of intake players with second nationality.

I just searched all german newgens in my game and it looks as if about 55% of Germans have a second nationality.

I will just post the Elite Talents. Nakibou Atoiyi looks like he could be really good. 6ft5. Two footed. Im looking forward to developing this player. Get that boy in the Gym and he could be a top player for us
