Apple iPod Hi-Fi A1121 Dock Speaker

Hi,

I have an old Apple (2006) iPod Hi-Fi A1121 Dock Speaker and i need to know please what kind of jack i can plug in "Audio In" located behind ?

I have and Apple iPod HiFi speaker which I now connect to my M1 Mac Mini using a USB C to Toslink adapter and then a Mini Toslink Adapter to the to the 3.5mm audio connecter on the Hi-Fi which is also accepts a mini Toslink jack. Takes away any buzz and hum you may get with a standard audio connecter.

If the plug appears to be too small, then perhaps you are using a 2.5mm plug. There are several plug types that may look the same to you, but are in fact different and incompatible.


Make sure that the cable is an audio cable, with a 3.5mm plug. That is, 3.5mm diameter of the plug's "pin".


.. and that it has three separate metal areas along its length. It will be the same size and appearance as the majority of headphone plugs.

That certainly looks like the correct plug.


I suggest that you push on it gently to see if it will go further in. Be careful though, what you need to do is close up the gap between the casing of the speaker and the wider ring of the plug, so that the two are touching. You should hear and feel a slight click as the plug latches home:
