According to a report from Spanish outlet, Marca, Real Madrid have made a firm offer for Schalke’s Leroy Sané.

Real Madrid have struggled to live up to expectations, as they’ve watched Barcelona win a treble last year, and currently sit third in the La Liga table. The club ended up firing two head coaches within six months of each other, with Zinedine Zidane now taking over the bench at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos received more bad news last week, when they were handed a one-year transfer ban by FIFA for breaching rules over the transfer of minors. However, the ban doesn’t kick in until the summer, leaving the club to buy whoever they’d like during the current transfer window.

According to a report emerging out of Spain, Real Madrid have set their sights on Schalke’s promising youngster, Leroy Sané. Marca is suggesting that the club have already made a formal offer for the 20-year-0ld attacking midfielder.

Real Madrid may be facing some stiff competition to land the German’s signature though, as the aforementioned report also claims that Barcelona, Liverpool, and Arsenal are also looking to snap up the Sané.

Despite being just 20-years-old he has already made an appearance for the German national team, making his debut in a friendly match against France in November. He featured in 13 league matches for Schalke last season, and has appeared in 17 matches so far this year. He has four goals and four assists in the current campaign.

Schalke be in action next on Sunday morning against Werder Bremen.
