It is with deep sadness that I share news of the passing of beloved cult film actress, Dyanne Thorne.

Dyanne Thorne was known by many in the horror film community for her role as soldier of fortune ‘Ilsa’ in the Don Edmonds/Jean LaFleur franchise of the 70’s but also had great success outside the realms of the horror genre with a shining career in comedy, the stage and screen. After a 30+ year career in show business with her husband, musician and actor Howard Maurer, Dyanne and Howard went on to run a successful wedding company in Las Vegas.

As a friend of the couple, I’ve been asked by Howard to share the news on his behalf.

Dyanne will be missed by film fans around the globe but she will be remembered by her wonderful work and the memories she created with her fans, colleagues, friends and family.

It has been a personal honour and a privilege to have had Dyanne in my life and she will be in my heart always.

Rest peacefully, Dyanne.

I love practical effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Yakuza Zero and Mafia III.

  1. Very sorry to hear this. I was just thinking about her recently when I rewatched the Star Trek episode “A Piece of the Action” in which she briefly appears. And not too long ago I caught her in an early Joe Sarno movie.

  2. Sad news… I feel so honored that she took the time to talk to me for retroCRUSH years ago. She was so sweet and nice to me. She was a brilliant and talented person. My condolences to Howard and all who knew & loved her.
