Janet Sutherland's Eclectic Hair

I was vacationing in Yachats for two weeks and needed color pretty desperately. Feeling adventurous I went to a new person - yikes - based on two reviews. WOW. Janet is THE best!!! I got so lucky finding her. My color has never looked so perfect, despite all the fancy salons I've gone to in Portland over 25 years. If Janet was even within 2 hours driving distance I'd see her regularly! She's that good. Central coast people are very lucky to have her there.

I'm new to the area and trying to establish new relationships for hair, nails, facials, doctors, dentist, auto mechanic, etc. So glad to have found Janet! Her haircuts and advice on hair color are the best I've had in years.

I've been getting my hair done by Mandy at Eclectic Hair for years now. I first came to her with fried orangish hair that wasn't even really attached to my head, and little hope. She began the process of making my hair healthier again before going any lighter. Now my hair is a beautiful blonde color and her highlighting weave skills are amazing and perfectly blended. Prices are affordable and worth the drive from Newport. I'm so thankful I have Mandy, I've never been happier!

Being impatient I came here and saw Mandy instead of my 1st choice salon for a cut and color. Cut was not near the picture I showed. After 3 visits I was not liking how the color was turning out. I went to the 1st choice place for a 2nd opinion with tears but not telling who worked on my hair. 2 stylists said it was horrible with orange spots etc. and suggested I get my money back. I told this stylist what was told to me but not who said it. I did not get any money back. My hair is ruined. She did not listen to my request for cut or color. My budget for a salon was spent getting ruined hair. Different shades of blonde with a 2" dark brown rim around my face. My hair is turning gray and white as I am that age. In a few weeks time, I now have a grow out of white then that dark brown rim then the shades of blonde. She called around and found who gave me the 2nd opinion. Don't know what she said but they decided not to get in the middle and will not fix my color.

Janet is a wonderful stylist, and a really cool person. She is a Belly Dance Teacher as well! ....and her prices are unbelievably reasonable!
