Morphology General
With characters as given for family and genus, the Cayman population differing from typical P. globosa of Mexico and Jamaica in the smaller size of its flowers and fruits (2–2.5 mm in diameter vs. 3–3.5 mm in diameter) and in having entire or nearly entire bract-margins (rather than margins minutely erose).
Diagnosis
Pilostyles globosa (S. Wats.) Hemsley var. caymanensis Proctor, var. nov. a var. globosa floribus fructibusque minoribus 2–2.5 mm (non 3–3.5 mm) diametro et marginibus bractearum integris vel subintegris (non minute erosis) differt.
