Iceland is one absolute heaven on earth blessed with abundant natural beauty. The country is home to both gorgeous glaciers and active volcanoes and is, thus, known as the Land of Ice and Fire. This magical winter wonderland is also dotted with numerous hot springs, which are the country’s best tourist attractions.
Here are some of the prime tourist hotspots, which are exclusive and beautiful beyond words and a must-visit.

Reykjavik
The capital of the country, Reykjavik is an island nation dotted with a number of interesting attractions catering to various kinds of travellers. The city is quite significant in the history of the Vikings. Some of the must-visit places in the city are the National Museum of Iceland, Hallgrímskirkja, The Sun Voyager and Harpa. Also, do not miss out on enjoying whale watching here, which happens round-the-year.

Grindavík
Grindavík is a fishing town in Iceland and most of the town’s inhabitants are in the fishing industry. The town is renowned for its iconic attraction, the Blue Lagoon, the geothermal spas. This must-visit attraction in Iceland is around 5 km from the town centre. People bathe here in the natural thermal blue water and the water from the underground hot springs touches 37-39 degrees Celsius. It is believed that bathing in these hot springs is extremely beneficial for skin and overall health.

Skaftafell
Another must-visit place in Iceland Skaftafell, a preservation region in Öræfi. This is the perfect place for nature and wildlife lovers, and is home to one of the most amazing waterfalls in the country. Prime places to visit in Skaftafell include Svartifoss Falls and Hundafoss Waterfalls.

Jökulsárlón
Jökulsárlón is renowned for its glacial lagoons and is among the most frequented attractions in the country. The destination is home to both glaciers and volcanoes and, hence, offers some awesome extreme adventure opportunities.

Arnarstapi
This one is a pretty tiny fishing town in Iceland, nestled in the foothills of Mount Stapafell. An offbeat destination, this is the place for solitude seekers and nature buffs. When in Arnarstapi, do visit Gatklettur, Jules Verne Monument, Bárðar Saga Snæfellsáss Statue, and the Vatnshellir Cave among others.

Akureyri
Akureyri is the second-largest populated region in Iceland after Reykjavik. The city is home to one of the most significant ports in the country and is often referred to as the Capital of North Iceland. Some of the prominent places to visit in the city are the Art Museum, Akureyrarkirkja, Botanical Gardens and Motorcycle Museum.
