Besiktas have parted ways with young midfielder Emirhan Delibas shortly after a dating profile featuring images of the player went viral. The 21-year-old, who emerged from the club's academy, made his Super Lig debut last month but hasn't been in the recent matchday squads.
Besiktas officially confirmed Delibas' release on Monday, stating it was a mutual agreement, and they wished him success in his future career. The reason for his departure was not specified in the official statement.
Delibas addressed the situation on his Instagram, dismissing 'unfounded rumours' about the dating profile and attributing it to fake accounts. He said:: "My loyalty to my team cannot be questioned. Besiktas is a responsibility for me, your love and support has always been my greatest motivation."
