The Mexican international goalkeeper has extensive experience in the First Division

Villarreal CF has reached an agreement to sign Pamela Tajonar for Villarreal CF Women for the 2021/22 season. The goalkeeper played for EDF Logroño last season, where she was a runner-up in the Copa de la Reina, and now she comes to Sara Monforte’s side for the Yellows’ first season in the First Division.

Villarreal Women now have three new faces in the squad for their first campaign in the top flight of Spanish women’s football. Pamela Tajonar’s signing adds to the previously announced Nerea Pérez and Tere Morató.

Experience and security between the posts

Pamela Tajonar Alonso (02/10/1984) is a player with ample experience in the top flight of Spanish women’s football. In fact, before playing for the side from La Rioja she played for Málaga CF, Sevilla FC and FC Barcelona. It was with Barça that she won the LaLiga Iberdrola. What’s more, she has also won several titles in her country, where she started her career playing for Puebla.

Furthermore, Tajonar’s international career leaves no room to doubt the Yellows’ new reinforcement. With the Mexico national team she has played in World Cups, Olympic Games, Gold Cups and Pan American Games, as well as other championships for her country’s youth sides. Therefore, Sara Monforte can count on a fantastic signing in goal for the upcoming season.
