The award winning Danish ceramicist Bodil Manz (born 1943) has spent most of her life with her hands in clay. The result is a life’s work with a great diversity in her works of art. Common for these are an excellent quality, an extraordinary technical level, collaboration between form and decoration and also a very personal expression.
We follow her curious and passionate work with the sculptural ceramic constellations, and accompany her throughout the process, from the wet clay to the designing, the firing and the decoration of the paper-thin pieces.
Manz tells us about her connection to her home and workshop, and about the cooperation with her now late husband, the ceramicist Richard Manz. We thus get an insight in Manz’ fascination of the technical and personal development in her work.
