Design project of a hovercraft was made for the Christy Hovercraft company. Air-cushion vehicles (ACV) are vehicles capable of travelling at high speed both over water and land surfaces using the so-called air cushion effect. Air cushion is a layer of compressed air under the craft’s bottom pumped by the on-board blower. The lack of friction on the surface reduces the craft’s resistance to motion. This design project is a prospective development of the 453 model of Christy Hovercraft to fill market segment of sport utility hovercrafts. The exterior design is based on the approved passenger arrangement in the cabin, power-assembly layout and presumed manufacturing technologies.
