Preston North End is preparing to create a ‘fan zone’ at Deepdale.

The former club shop is earmarked to be converted into the new entertainment area.

Located near the Sir Tom Finney Way side of the stadium the fan zone would face Moor Park.

The building also has club offices in it and these are intended to be kept, with only the old club shop being revamped.

Documents from PWA Planning on behalf of the club outline what would be inside the Fanzone.

They state: “It is anticipated that the Fanzone will be open to supporters on match days, both Saturday and evening games, along with the opportunity to watch other midweek football games on TV. The space will also be used for special occasions, having the potential to operate as a function facility.”

Plans show how the building would have space for up to 500 football fans if all standing, but the floorspace would mostly be used for a mixture of standing and seating.

Extensive parking is already available on the club’s existing car parks.

Full proposals can be seen on the Preston City Council website and any comments left there.
