Comfortable and clean and spacious room. Appreciated the microwave and fridge in the room as the hotel is on top of a hill and it rained a lot during our stay so we brought food for the evening back to the room. Friendly staff and good views. A lovely town to be in dry weather , and a lovely hotel to stay in at any time. Excellent breakfast included with plenty of choice.

Great, family run hotel, located on the hills, 15 min drive from Bastia. You can get there by car or taxi. Absolutely stunning view on the mountains and the sea. You can enjoy breakfast (big thank you! for gluten free option!) from the outside terras with spectacular mountain view. Rooms are clean and comfort.
Dinner menu is exqusite and truly top food is served! Cudos to the chef! This is type of 'place with its history', so don't expect modern type of architecture or trendy vibes. Instead, atmosphere, quitness, nature around and the owners and staff make this place great experience.

Fly direct to Bastia Poretta Airport from numerous European cities. From Paris, it's a 1.5-hour flight. Alternatively, take a ferry from Nice or Toulon (approx. 5 hours). For domestic travellers, trains connect Bastia to Ajaccio and Calvi (3-4 hours).
The most convenient airport for both domestic and international travellers is Bastia Poretta Airport. It's just 20km from Bastia, offering numerous flights and good transport links to the city.
Bastia, France, offers several public transport options. The city's bus service, run by Bastia Bus, provides extensive coverage. Taxis are readily available, and car hire services are an option. For short distances, walking or cycling is feasible due to the city's compact size. Always check the latest schedules and routes for accuracy.
The best area to stay in Bastia, France, is the Old Town (Vieux Port). It's popular for its historical charm, vibrant markets, and proximity to the port, offering easy access to public transport and local attractions.

Bastia is a gorgeous village and very close to Saint Florent as well airport and a beautiful beach near the airport. We aren’t museum people but it was really very interesting in the citadel… worth a visit and free in the off season. Perhaps just a few days in Bastia would be sufficient and then head further south to explore.

City port with pretty historic center, main square, smaller port surrounded by the restaurants. Streets with the shops, cafes, good to stay for day or two. For everybody who likes the history, boats, shops, cafes and restaurants. Several public parking places (garages) are helpful, parking in the center is not easy, especially with the bigger car. Good shops with local deli.

Bastia is an interesting city. Lots to see and do.
Bastia is an interesting city. Lots to see and do. The train journey to Ajaccio is four hours, but it’s worth doing for the stunning scenery. Apart from that there isn’t much public transport in Corsica, so it’s not easy to explore the island with a vehicle.

A nice city with a tree lined main square the citadel was beautiful and a must to visit. The port areas had some lovely restaurants and bars. Some parts of the town are a little scruffy with graffiti but unfortunately it has become expected in most cities today, just sad it spoils some of the old quaint streets.
Plenty of buses and taxis and a main train station.
Some parts are steep for walking .
Felt safe and people were friendly,

Bastia is a busy ferry harbour city.
Bastia is a busy ferry harbour city. It is a gateway to Corsica. It has several nice pedestrian only streets with plenty of shops and places to eat. It is fine for a night or two as you enter / exit Corsica (ferry or plane) it is a good hub for onward travel (bus and train) but it is not a holiday destination. There are no beaches within walking distance of the city centre.

This is not a holiday destination for those who like to laze...
This is not a holiday destination for those who like to laze on a sandy beach. It is a very beautiful mountainous island full of history, with its small towns that seem to cling to the sides of the mountains, its ancient buildings that look like they are crumbling, it's narrow winding streets with steps everywhere, its lively restaurants and bars that are a mixture of Corsican and Italian and a sea that is one minute like a mill pond and quite wild the next. The views are breathtaking, and the people are very friendly and proud of their heritage. It is a wild unspoilt place where the language is often Italian, the food has a very italian influence and the people are really kind. The town of Bastia is quite small so take the coastal train or bus. It is possible to visit the whole island in 2 weeks and well worth it.
The staff are extremely professional, welcoming and friendly. They were even able to decipher my rudimentary French, which takes some skill!
The hotel is classy, without being pretentious. The rooms are extremely comfortable, the location perfect, and the views stunning. You couldn't ask for a better location for a stay in Bastia, being close enough to easily access some great restaurants, but distant enough to avoid the clamour of the harbourfront. All-in-all, a perfect stay!
Monsieur Miot is in a great location and ideally placed if, like us, you are taking an early morning ferry from Bastia port. It's not, however, a destination hotel, which is what we understood from the description and it really is not a 'boutique' hotel and does not come with any of the amenities traditionally associated with boutique hotels. For the room rates, I believe that breakfast should be included. The hotel works for a one night stay but no longer.
We were on holiday and due to a delay with the ferries our plans changed and instead to go to Calvi we decided to stay in Bastia for 1 night. We discover this hotel that it is very well located close to the port and to the citadelle.
The rooms are very well designed and clean, the staff was great and very accomodating. If I will pass by Bastia I will for sure book again this hotel.
Thanks
The hotel is well situated and has very helpful staff. The ferry and rail is nearby. It is within easy walking distance to the sights and has a coffee shop and bar downstairs. The bathroom is small but works well and our bed was very comfortable. It was our first stop on our first trip to Corsica and we felt very welcome!
Super friendly and charming hostess. House is decorated in a stylish-arty way with incredible view over the bay of Bastia. Perfect for a morning coffee and glimpse of sunrise. Comfortable bed, and spacious rooms. Around the corner there’s a very good Italian making Neapolitan style pizza: Geppetto.
we chose this hotel because of the owners responses to trip advisor reviews. and it did not disappoint. it was quirky but comfortable. clean and beautifully decorated. ideally located for exploring Bastia. car parking was an added bonus. and the staff were all super friendly and helpful.
Very nice small hotel located close to Bastia. The nearest beach is 7 min walk from the hotel. We were upgraded to a higher level room with a sea view. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast is served at the lovely terrace. The hotel also proposes dinners.
This is a pleasant hotel in the suburbs of Bastia with a sea view. Friendly staff are very helpful. The hotel is well maintained and clean. The outdoor dining area is a nice place to spend an evening. Food is very good. ³
Friendly welcome. Excellent location in centre of town. Close to supermarkets and bus stop for airport shuttle.
We did not have breakfast in the hotel as we were a stone's throw from lots of cafes and bakeries.
The rooms are really small (but conformable with a few smart solutions to best use the available space). The hotel is also on a noisy street, but to be fair you can't expect downtown and a quiet location.
We arrived very early off the ferry and they very kindly allowed us to drop off our luggage. The hotel is a great location- same street as tourism office, several cafes, and the buses that leave town.
After dinner in Bastia there were no taxis available after 9pm so the owner/manager of the hotel personally came into town to collect me!
good breakfast selection including hot food
Best view, possibility to sit on the terrace in front of the room with a glass of wine, a restaurant with the view, the room, the staff.... everything!
