The club have majorly fallen behind the times as rival clubs have jumped ahead of United in the modernisation of their stadiums with Tottenham moving into a billion-pound new home a few years ago while Liverpool have increased their stadium capacity by over 10,000 seats in recent years.
Various ideas regarding Old Trafford have been floated around, including a massive revamp or simply demolishing the celebrated home of the 13-time Premier League champions. At least, according to AI, a major touch-up on the stadium could have devastatingly brilliant aesthetics.
The demolition job - while it will prove to be a heart-breaking goodbye - could be the best way forward for Ratcliffe in dawning a new era at the club, according to Populous chief executive Chris Lee.
