Where To Celebrate New Year’s Eve In New York City

New York City is practically synonymous with New Year’s Eve. The entire world watches and waits for the ball to drop in Times Square, while revelers at the crossroads of the world and across the boroughs celebrate the upcoming New Year. Plenty of restaurants far away from the chaos are also hosting celebrations for festive meals, toasts and a fun ambiance to ring in the 2024. Here’s where to celebrate:

Baar Baar

Early birds can get in on a $65 3-course set menu with seatings from 5-7:30 p.m on New Year’s Eve. Then, from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Baar Baar will transition to a $160+ per person ticketed dinner and NYE party with a DJ, passed bites, a lavish dinner buffet, premium open bar, NYE party favors, and a midnight champagne toast with the ball drop. One White Street

The progressive-American neighborhood restaurant in Tribeca from Chef Austin Johnson, will be offering two menus featuring seasonal produce sourced from their Hudson Valley farm, Rigor Hill Farm. Menu options include a 4 course pre-fixe menu (first seatings at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., $168 and later seating at 9 p.m., $198), and the full Chef's Tasting Menu (first seating at 5:45 p.m., $298; 2nd seating at 9 p.m., $338). Leyenda

For a party vibe, head to Leyenda in Carroll Gardens. For $175 a person, guests can enjoy an open bar shaking up signature Leyenda cocktails, a mezcal tasting, passed food throughout the night, non-stop dancing, and a midnight mezcal toast. The party run from 9 p.m. until 12:30 a.m., with DJ Chichadelico spinning all night.

Time Out Market New York

Studio 55 is set to be the Market’s party of the year. Enjoy rooftop views of Manhattan, disco by DJ Price Is Right from 8-10 pm, followed by live performances by Ronnie Roc, DJ Ray Suave, and Will Brown on saxophone from 10 pm – 1 am. The open bar kicks off at 9, and $300 tickets include a $50 gift card to redeem at the market’s eateries. Attendees will receive complimentary party favors and gift bags, plus a midnight toast from a surprise guest.

KYU

Head to NoHo for Chef Chris Arellanes' Asian-inspired woodfired cuisine with a party sponsored by Veuve Clicquot. Luxury à la carte offerings include opulent choices like caviar service and truffle shaving by the ounce, promising an extravagant yet personalized dining experience to welcome the New Year.

Philippe Chow

Philippe Chow is offering three distinct New Year's Eve experiences with multiple seatings, including a $175, 16-course tasting menu available from 7 p.m. at both its Upper East Side and downtown locations. Menu highlights include chicken satay, wok fried or sautéed lobster, Peking duck and Cotton Candy Baked Alaska flambéed tableside. In addition to the standard tasting menu, guests can elevate their celebration with the Golden Package which includes a bottle of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut ($250pp) , or the Platinum Package, which includes a bottle of Moët & Chandon Nectar Imperial Rosé ($325pp). Larger parties can also opt for a private dining experience in the Wine Cellar for $500 per person.

Zuma New York

Featuring two live DJs and performers all evening, guests can anticipate a grand champagne toast to ring in the New Year, while indoor fireworks illuminate the bilevel venue. Zuma will offer three enticing dinner packages to celebrate. The Classic package, priced at $175 per person, provides four hours of an open bar featuring an array of spirits, beer, wine, and cocktails. The Signature package, at $250 per person, offers lounge table seating along with the open bar. For the ultimate VIP experience, the Premium package, available at $300 per person, includes a balcony table with bottle service, lounge bites, and the full open bar selection.

The Little Owl

This year, The Little Owl is doing something different and forgoing a set prix fixe. A more relaxed atmosphere will offer appetizers like hearty Italian wedding soup with polpettini, escarole, and parm egg drop and Nonna’s eggplant parmigiana. Additional specials will include Nova Scotia Halibut with chive mashed potatoes and lemon crème fraîche gravy or a pork chop and butter beans with parmesan, and wild dandelion.

Shota Omakase

The Edomae-style omakase experience in Williamsburg led by sushi chef veteran, Cheng Lin (Sushi Seki, Blue Ribbon, ITO Tribeca) will offer an 18-course menu that changes daily, with an emphasis on marinating, curing, and aging. New Year’s Eve will include a Champagne toast. The restaurant also offers an a la carte menu of curated sakes, wines and beers.

Manhatta

Manhatta is hosting a New Year's Eve party, 60 floors up. Enjoy a festive meal before hitting the town or stay all evening long. Seatings from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. offer a 4-course menu, and seatings aver 7:30 p.m. include a six-course tasting menu, midnight Champagne toast, DJ after party with an open bar, and late night surprises. Hutong

This contemporary Northern Chinese restaurant in Midtown is hosting an extravagant New Year’s Eve celebration in their main dining room and The Shanghai, their upscale cocktail lounge. On New Year’s Eve guests can choose from four different party packages ranging from open bar access to full table service in The Shanghai. Tickets start at $50

9 Jones

Step into the sophisticated world of a British-inspired semi-private club with a new York edginess. A champagne and caviar lounge, featuring an interactive cocktail cart and atmosphere enhanced by silent black and white movies projected onto the ceiling will lead up to the celebratory ball drop at midnight. The caviar-centric prix fixe menu paired with overflowing bubbly cocktails and champagne ensures a night of indulgence and delight. Entry with menu and party for $200 per person. Emmett's on Grove

For those seeking a relaxed yet vibrant New Year’s Eve and the ideal spot to gather with friends and family, Emmett’s on Grove is the perfect place. The memorable evening will leave out the obligation of a fixed menu and will offer Midwest charm and elevated Italian-American and Chicago classics with many shareable options, including two-day fermented House Focaccia, Pappardelle Bolognese, Chicken Parmesan, and even a TD Tower for sharing with pigs in-a-blanket, chicken park and meatball sliders, crispy and unfried olive. Sharable Tavern-style pizzas with ‘party cuts’ will be the ideal environment for the evening. This beloved West Village spot known for its focus on Micro seasons plans to celebrations catering to those seeking a feast, and those seeking to ring in with a few drinks with friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Executive Chef Nate Ashton is preparing a special 4 course prix fixe menu for $100/pp with an optional $50/pp wine pairing, with both vegetarian and omnivore options available, with seatings starting at 7:30 p.. and 9:30 p.m. Reservations via Resy

This New Year's Eve, Chef Eric Huang is serving up holiday specials to help revelers indulge. Four pieces of Pecking House's fried chicken (flavors include chili, salted duck egg yolk or naked) will be served with 2 ounces of Hackleback Caviar and a bottle of Empire Estate Blanc de Blancs Brut for $99. For a larger group Pecking House offers 8 pieces of fried chicken, 4 pieces of cheddar cornbread with apple honey, 4 sides of your choice for $99. Moxy Williamsburg

For a roving, house party feel, join the four room extravaganza at the Moxy Williamsburg. Immerse yourself in unique spaces including Jolene Sound Room, The Garden, Bar Bedford and Mesiba. Starting at 9 pm, guests can indulge in a 3.5-hour premium open bar with craft cocktails. DJ collective Rose Gold will bring the vibes all night.
