Molly Sims is not the first celebrity to launch a podcast, but she just might be the most open about what she shares, especially when it comes to our collective fascination with beauty. “Women need to be honest,” she says, “because when you have a celebrity culture where people are saying, ‘I’m not really doing anything [to my face],’ or ‘I just look like this,’ that’s not transparency. And it doesn’t make the person that’s hearing that feel good about themselves or even think it’s attainable. I’m all for plastic surgery, but come on, let’s be honest about it!”
That thinking led to the launch of Lipstick on the Rim, a new podcast with Dear Media, where the model, author, and philanthropist talks about everything from “beauty, wellness, plastic surgery, nutrition, sex, and more” with her best friend of 17 years, Emese Gormley. “My mom was big into beauty and wellness and sharing what works, and my girlfriends and I do that too,” Sims tells Glamour. “We back each other, and I think as women, that’s really, really important.”

In that same spirit, Sims shared with us her nighttime routine for how she gets a good night’s sleep, including all the products she uses, and the slippers so comfortable she wears them during the day too.
I take magnesium to get to sleep. But I can sleep anywhere, anytime, on any surface. I don’t know if that’s from years of modeling and sitting in economy while traveling all over the world or what, but I’ve always been able to sleep. I also love a glass of wine. And every now and then I drink hot cocoa like Swiss Miss, or Four Mushrooms by Foursigmatic.
I have my candles that I love, like Golden Glow by Skylar and Feu de Bois from Diptyque next to my bed.
Right now I’m reading An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. It’s really good. And Lisa Jewell’s The Family Upstairs is really good, as well as Lacey Crawford’s Notes on a Silencing.
The joke about old Molly over here is she’ll see seven minutes of something and fall right asleep, but I am watching The Servant on Netflix. It’s really good.
If I am in a rush to take my makeup off, I’ll use a Neutrogena makeup wipe or micellar water, but otherwise I’ll use Seiso JBeauty’s Fuwafuwa foaming cleanser that is unbelievable. I love their Experience Kit as well, which has everything you need, and it’s great for sensitive skin and packed with calming and hydrating ceramides. Georgia Louise makes a really nice cleansing balm to get all your makeup off.
Then I love Sarah Chapman’s Skinesis Overnight Facial. That product is insane! And the clean beauty line, Mara, is great for sensitive skin. I love their face oils.
For eye creams, I like the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème and Tatcha’s Silk Peony Eye Cream.
I love a Liberty print. I’m obsessed with Lunya, and Nevins. Those are my two new finds. They are just so pretty and soft and comfortable. I got a gift with Misa, a beautiful coral robe that’s like silk and beautiful. James Perse makes a white one that’s really great. And I love my slippers from Naked Cashmere. I wear them everywhere. They make a great cashmere robe as well.
I love Slip pillowcases, as well as their silk eye mask. And I also got a wedding gift from that famous linens company in Switzerland called Schlossberg, and they’re fantastic.
Knowing my kids are with me. As long as they’re okay, I’m okay.
