And now they have managed to lure Ribalta, considered a key man in Juve’s setup over recent years, as a scouting co-ordinator going forward.

Announcing his departure from Juventus Stadium, the Bianconeri said: “Juventus Football Club announces that after five years of a profitable partnership, scouting manager Javier Ribalta is leaving the club to take on a new professional adventure.”

Ribalta, who will move to Manchester to tie United’s scouting operations together, added: “They have been beautiful years, in which I have worked very well. I thank everyone at the club and in particular Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici for the faith they have demonstrated in me from the first day. It has been a great experience and I will always remember it with great pleasure.”

Ribalta’s introduction is not expected to impact United’s immediate transfer plans for the summer ahead, with the club looking to add to the signing of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof for a fee rising to £40 million.
