UPCOMING LITTERS

Thank you for your interest in a Herzog German Shepherd pup! Our upcoming litters can be viewed below. We specialize in puppies with calm temperaments that are suitable for service, therapy, facility work and can do well in a family setting. To do this we choose our parent dogs with even temperaments, good health and correct conformation.

We stay away from high drive dogs as they are often unsuitable for the environments our pups are placed in and require a higher level of training. When we do have a pup that has higher drive requirements we work to match them with an owner who’s up for the challenge as our primary goal is the success of our pups in their new homes.

At this time we offer black and red, solid black and sable pups in long and short coats in our upcoming litters.

ABOUT SABRINA

Sabrina is the epitome of a gentle giant. With her solid black coat long coat, she's a beauty that immediately catches the eye. She’s a couch potato at heart and cherishes her lazy days, always finding the coziest spot to curl up in. Despite her laid-back nature, Sabrina's sweet temperament shines through in her interactions with others, she greets every person with a gentle nudge and a wagging tail. Sabrina is good with other dogs and meets them with a playful demeanor. She’s a smart girl, quickly mastering commands that result in her favorite reward - belly rubs. Sabrina is a joy to have around.

I can’t wait to see how this litter turns out with the matching of these two parents. Both parents are excellent in social situations and their pups be best matched with someone looking for a sweet and social long coat black pup with a medium-low drive. They would do well in the home, doing therapy work or service work.

Jett & Ada - Puppies DUE APRIL 26th

Boy were we surprised and thrilled that Ada finally conceived. Over the last couple of years I’ve actually had Ada on our Retired Dogs list because she’s been unable to conceive. We had little hope her breeding with Jett would be successful but to our surprise sometimes Mother Nature has something up her sleeve right when you least expect it!

ABOUT JETT

Jett isn’t one of our studs but we’re excited to have him sire this litter! He’s a mild mannered boy with beautiful short black coat.

ABOUT ADA

Ada is a Working Line imported from Germany with a confident personality. She has a thick, solid bone structure and stunning sable coat.  Her strong desire to work and excellent temperament makes her a prime example of a female German Shepherd.  

Ada’s an alpha female and heads the pack well. She’s a natural at redirecting her pack mates and does so with confidence and kindness. She likes to work daily but doesn’t act out if she isn’t able to go. Ada is the ultimate package.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THIS LITTER

Ada’s confidence mixed with Jett’s calmer demeanor will make for some excellent pups. I expect to see a range of personalities, some confident and some more on the calm side. Pups should be sable, solid black and maybe even bicolor.

Izzy is petite sweetheart with a calm disposition. She’s feminine and walks with a light footed pitter patter. She always has a smile on her face and a wag in her tail. Izzy is extremely affectionate and loves to give kisses. She’s a smaller framed female with a breathtaking long red & black coat. Her red is a sweet gingery-blonde that’s absolutely stunning. It’s hard not to have a smile on your face when you see her since she radiates happiness.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THIS LITTER

Lewis & Izzy’s previous pups turned out to be gorgeous with long coats and sweet dispositions. Several of their pups have had the right temperaments for therapy work and I’ve had multiple owners contact me to say how quickly their pup picked up on training and how well-behaved they are in public. Skylar is a breathtaking long coat black & red female. She’s a happy-go-lucky girl who always makes everyone smile. She’s got a good amount of energy but isn’t high drive. Skylar is affectionate and social. She loves people, other dogs and small animals. One of the great things about Skylar is her focus. When she’s given a command she sticks to it. She picks things up very quickly and her focus and love for people results in pups that make excellent service dog candidates for higher level needs. Skylar is ready to go when you are but at the end of the day, her favorite thing is snuggling up with you. Her coat is incredibly soft so she makes the perfect snuggle buddy.

ABOUT MIDNIGHT

Midnight is a breathtaking long coat black & red female with an outgoing personality toward people and other animals. She was imported from Germany with a smaller size but stocky build. She has a medium drive so she’s up for whatever task she’s put up to but is calm enough to know when it’s time to relax.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THIS LITTER

We’re expecting some outstanding long coat pups from this litter in black sable and black & red. They’ll be best matched with someone who wants a medium drive pup and will do well in service work or in the home.

Below are our planned pairings - timing of litter will depend on when heat cycles fall

NOTE: HEAT CYCLES ARE NORMALLY TWICE A YEAR AND CAN SHIFT, SKIP, BE EARLY OR LATE.

The following litters are not certain until the female actually conceives. These are our planned pairings but females can miss cycles, may not conceive, may only have 1 sex, small litters, etc. I recommend if you’re placing a deposit for an upcoming planned litter, choose your top favorite pairings and I’ll put you down for the first one that conceives and keep you on as a backup for your other favorites in case she has all one sex or a small litter.

ABOUT YOSHI

Yoshi is a magnificent male with a long solid black coat. He’s an exceptional boy with a love for hiking the trails.  He’s adventurous and curious, but has a confident stature that’s always on guard - he’s truly a well rounded dog. Getting outside not only keeps him physically fit but also mentally stimulated. He’s quick to pick up on new things and his pups are good candidates for higher levels of service work. Despite being a large male, Yoshi is surprisingly gentle and at home, acts as a guardian, always alert and watchful. His favorite spot is at your feet and he seems alert even when he sleeps. Yoshi impresses me over and over again because he’s truly a dog to be proud of.

ABOUT ANUK

Anuk has an affectionate solid black coat with a calm demeanor for a Working Line female which is what we look for in our parent dogs. She’s a girl who prefers to stick by your side rather than run with the other dogs. Her kisses are pure love and she’s ready to give them at all times. Those who know me best are aware that I normally prefer West German Show Line dogs because of their calmer temperament, but Anuk has really surprised me and I’m proud to have her join our program.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THIS LITTER

Pups will have solid black and bicolor short coats (see examples of bicolor German Shepherds). These pups would be best matched with someone who wants a pup with medium-low drive. Both Anuk and Yoshi have the temperament we’d recommend for higher level service dogs and we expect their pups to follow suit.

Isabel is large boned, short coat, black & red female with a gentle presence. She’s kind hearted, calm and loving with a thoughtful expression. She’s loyal to her loved ones and has a maternal instinct. Isabel seems to watch over everyone the way a mother would. She’s full of love yet ready to protect. Isabel has a graceful gait that reminds me of our Tara’s. Even with her large frame she moves with elegance. Above all, her favorite thing to do is sit on your lap. I shouldn’t be surprised, it seems like the big ones are always the lap dogs!

This will be Lewis & Isabel’s second litter together. They’ll have pups with black & red long and short coats with sweet temperaments. ABOUT ZANDRA

Zandra is the daughter of our Lewis and Izzy. She got the best of both her parents and we’re proud to have her join our breeding program. From Lewis, she inherited his striking black and red coat and his happy go-lucky attitude along with his ability to discern between friendly and threatening situations. That last one is an important trait for a German Shepherd and sadly many lack that ability. From her mother Izzy, Zandra inherited her petite frame and feminine face. She also has Izzy's happy disposition, light-footedness and affectionate nature. We are incredibly excited about Zandra carrying on the bloodlines and temperaments of both Lewis and Izzy, as she represents their finest qualities. Zandra is a great source of pride for us because she’s a reminder of why we do this.

She’s nurturing to the people she loves and watches over her pack even though she’s not an alpha. She’s agile when she needs to be but is just as happy relaxing with a bone. Zoria’s a prime example of an easy-going gal.

ABOUT WOODY

Woody isn’t one of our studs but we sought him out because he has striking conformation and a sweet disposition. Woody is a very large boy and his pups are expected to follow suit. If you aren’t looking for a large dog, Woody may not be the sire for you.

ABOUT UTA

Uta is a bundle of love. She consistently comes to me while I’m working and wants a moment of attention. She’ll lift a paw to let me know she’d like me to take a break to pet her. Once she’s had that she’s good to go until her next pet break. She’s highly intelligent and has learned how to get her favorite thing - belly rubs - by walking into my path and dropping to her back wagging her tail and loving every minute of it. She gets me every time, how could anyone say no to that? Uta is a medium sized female with a beautiful black mask on her feminine face. Her looks match her sweet demeanor and we couldn’t love her more.
