Rosamund Pike is moving to the White House for her next project.
The I Care a Lot star will lend her voice to the role of Edith Wilson for QCODE and Crooked Media’s forthcoming satire podcast about the former first lady.
Limited series Edith! tells the story of the second wife of President Woodrow Wilson, who some historians believe became the de facto leader of the country after her husband suffered a stroke near the end of his presidency.
Edith! was written by comedian and TV writer Gonzalo Cordova (Adam Ruins Everything, Tuca & Bertie) and Crooked Media head writer Travis Helwig (Adam Ruins Everything, Billy on the Street). They serve as producers on the show. Pike is executive producing alongside QCODE CEO Rob Herting, Crooked co-founder Jon Lovett, and Crooked head of creative development and production Sarah Geismer. Golden Arm director Maureen Bharoocha directed the series.
Edith! — which is expected to debut this summer — is the first collaboration between podcast producer QCODE, known for Rami Malek thriller Blackout and erotic podcast Dirty Diana starring Demi Moore, and Crooked Media, the company behind Pod Save America.
Pike is fresh off a Golden Globe win for her starring role in Netflix’s I Care a Lot. She is repped by United Agents in the U.K. and CAA and Magnolia in the U.S.
