Parasitic shrub with shiny green, leathery, entire leaves and inflorescences of clustered, tube-shaped corollas, green and globular at the base, red and much constricted immediately above and gradually widening further to the top, splitting with one fissure to over halfway to the base, yellowish at the again narrower tip, pistil longer than the five stamens, green below, suddenly deflected at the base of the anthers, dark red opposite the anthers and green above, with a small whitish stigma
