“Arsenal over celebrating again” BY Shenel
Those words are all I have been hearing since we beat Liverpool 3-1 yesterday. Can people not change the record as it is getting a bit boring now!
Truly I have had enough of people saying we got lucky as well, and I have had enough of people saying negative things about our team and their celebrations! So what if we celebrate in the way we do!
We have so far beaten, from the top sides this season; Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United and have drawn with Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea with many other wins and results along the way of course.
And I know we have more games to come and some more against the big teams, but they are big wins in this league yet nobody can seem to congratulate us and give us praise where praise is due and I am tired of it!
These wins are not pure luck they are talent, character, pure ability, skill and team togetherness that has got us over the line. Yes, some decisions may have gone for us but equally many have gone against us and more often than not we have pushed ourselves over the line for the win.
Who cares if we over celebrate each and every decision and win, we would be questioning the loyalty and passion of the players if they didn’t celebrate so the players can’t win no matter what they do!
Let me take you back to the dramatic last-minute winner from Reiss Nelson last season as we beat Bournemouth 3-2, everyone went mad in the Emirates, the fans, the manager, the players and me included! Did we go on to win the league? No, but what did that do for the club? It brought us all closer together from the top of the chain to the bottom including manager, players, back-room staff and fans and showed the familyesqueness (if that is a word) of the team and fans together again!
So who cares!
What will be will be, if we win the league, we win the league if we don’t then at least we know our club and our players are passionate about the sport and club we love so much and do their utmost to ensure we are successful!
People can never just say ‘well done Arsenal!’
The only person that congratulated us and so he should have, was Jurgen Klopp, in his interview after the game, because we were the better side there is no doubt about that. But of course, he is leaving at the end of the season so he doesn’t really mind what he says I guess but that is a show of sportsmanship that had it been Jose Mourinho, we would not have seen!
But we don’t need anybody’s praise! We just need to keep doing what we are doing, ignore the haters and our time will surely come!

Yes we obviously should celebrate our wins, especially against our rivals. But, at what level? I dont know the answer to that one and i suppose nobody does. The celebration should match the achievement, and while it was a win, that is all it was. We didn’t win the league, a cup or avoided relegation on the last day of the season. It was a big win, yes. Are some of the celebrations a bit cringy, (not just us) yes. Do some go over the top? Yes. Im not sure our celebrations beating Liverpool were too cringy, but let’s leave the cringy celebrations to when we win something special.

Simple as that and, while I accept that a 78 year old man shouldn’t jump up and down singing “North London Forever” might not be a pretty sight in Portugal, I was thoroughly enjoying myself while the pool fans who predicted we would lose, brought me another pint… the result of our wager before the game started!!et your hair down Reggie, we might lose to WHU next!! 😂😂😂
Ken, I agree with you except where you insinuate something like losing to WHU yet again. Much as anything is possible, I will say God forbid! I feel this is payback time against them! They have really enjoyed themselves against us. If there was ever a time to make right what went wrong it is our next game against WHU.
On the issue of celebrating a victory, I feel it is all dictated by the circumstances. Let us not forget that Liverpool made a great issue of ejecting us from the FA cup. Obviously it hurt our players and fans alike. Thus, our people were in a way paying back for what Liverpool fans had done after their FA victory. What goes around comes around. It is human nature to feel good after triumph over your rival. It is not only Arsenal that does that; all teams do. Some might say that Arteta ‘over-celebrated’ but one might ask why not? He is still a young man in his early forties who feels he is achieving some big things! Would you blame him? The level of celebration is also determined by the magnitude of the achievement.
DAVID a fine and realistic post and my only quibble is where you claim KEN”insinuated ” we would lost to West Ham”!
Actually, he did nothing of the kind and merely used an exaggerated “what if” to illustrate a point, (remembering that all things ARE possible, as you yourself have agreed, even though Ken, I and others think it unlikely we will to lose to West Ham).
He was merely making an important point to negative Reggie, as I believe you will realise, IF YOU CARE TO READ HIS POST AGAIN, BUT IN FULL CONTEXT THIS TIME.
David, I think Jon has answered your “criticism” – I can’t wait for Declan Rice to lead us to victory,his first against his old club since joining The Arsenal.
With all due respect, I accept Jon’s as well as Ken’s clarification on the WHU issue. We all wish wthe best for our team.

De-zabri the Brighton coach celebrated when his team defeat us last season at the Emirates run towards the conner flag silence everywhere

But once it’s Arteta Celebration police and commitees reel out code of conduct.

Spot on! There is a clear agenda against Arteta and Arsenal.
Other managers and clubs can seemingly celebrate however they want, and not a word from anyone.
For anyone who doesn’t believe there is an agenda, just look Carragher! Klopp has been the biggest “over celebrator” for almost a decade in the EPL, and gets no criticism!
Our season was in the balance so I’m fine with players showing similar passion as the fans. I don’t see what’s wrong with that. I love it when our fans go wild so it’s good to see a great atmosphere
Look, this was a huge game. Our beating Liverpool shows that we are a really good side and this could give us the confidence to go far in the CL. Beating the biggest sides shows us we can challenge for titles
There’s a picture going around of Neville KISSING a teammate full on the lips after United had scored a goal – yet he deems to criticise Mikel, the players and us the fans!!!
I agree 100% with Jen, there’s a northern bias against us – the trouble is, they don’t like it up ’em – we’re doomed!!

The last of the “stars” of this great series Jon – glad you picked up the references and “don’t tell him your name Pike” was a classic on its own.
Ken My Sue and I , being total absurdists, regularly use “dont tell him Pike” in our own ridiculous way, with such as food. andother things Eg; “is tuna on your shopping list Sue”. Answer “Dont tell him Tuna”. And much else besides that rather tame one, in our place.
We are both seriously weird. Well watching Arsenal for 65 years is bound to make one weird. But I dont know what Sues reason is, as she has no natural interest in sport at all, let alone Arsenal. Sigh!!
Living with me however is weird so that MUST be the reason!
BTW, in DA,the episode of The battle for Godfreys cottage , was my all time favourite.
The only ones outside of Richard Keys who are moaning about our ‘ celebrations’ are the hypocritical ex player pundits of our hated rivals.Ex Man U,ex Chelsea,ex spuds & ex Liverpool.All the usual suspects.Neville,Keane,Ferdinand,scholes,Carragher,sourness,Sutton,Jason Cindy,Jamie o Hara etc.
Look at who they played for & open your eyes to the Anti Arsenal agenda.

PP, the fact all these ex rival player s are clearly envious and therefore feel the need to try, (though fail) to bring our club down is a huge compliment , IF you really think about it.
We humans are only ever envious of something or someone more successful than ourselves So now you know that, just relax and enjoy their obvious envy.
