Naxos Panoramio Family Half-Day Island Tour Experience

Greek mythology will be brought to life as you’ve never known before on this half-day tour of the stunning island of Naxos. Discover the rural hinterland of this fascinating and alluring island with all the family, and let the magic of Greek mythology take you over.

The first stop is in Melanes, where you will visit the colossal 7th-century BC statue of Kouros, towering over you at 6 meters high. Eclipsed by the peaceful shadow of the Kouros, you and your family can discuss the origins and stories of Greek mythology.

We then proceed to Naxos’s largest olive grove, home to 800-year-old olive trees. During our stop, we delve into the artistry of traditional pottery at a workshop, where a live demonstration showcases the craft. A short distance away, a visit to a private donkey farm awaits! Here, you can interact with and feed a variety of animals, including donkeys, ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits, and goats – an engaging experience, especially for children. The farm also offers the chance to try your hand at archery.

Following the farm visit, our exploration leads us to Chalkí, the island’s most picturesque village. A visit to a local beekeeper introduces you to the world of honey, with a tasting session. We will then take a break for a meal at a charming tavern – don’t miss the famous local custard pastry, “galaktoboureko”!

A visit to an old distillery founded more than 100 years ago, and a tasting of the local digestive liqueur “Citron” will be the delightful ending of your tour.
