Otto Frello was born in Outrup just outside Varde in 1924. After leaving school, the young drawing talent completed an apprenticeship as a craft painter in Billum before moving to Copenhagen. In the capital he took drawing and painting lessons and finally mastered the painting technique to perfection and mixed the reality of everyday life with supernatural fantasy in his motifs (died 2015).He was an extraordinary painter who painted intoxicating pictures. He was a fantasy painter and comic artist. As the illustrator of the Olsen Gang's only comic, he has almost cult status.
A large number of his fantasy paintings can be admired in the museum. The images are intended to depict everyday life as well as the mysteries, while astonishing the viewer with their richness of detail.
