Formerly Scholzarena, now Ostalbarena, but still the stadium of VfR Aalen, which unfortunately is currently (2022) fourth-rate.

The Ostalb Arena has space for over 14,000 fans. VfB Stuttgart played against Borussia Dortmund in the League Cup game here. The stadium was also the venue for games in the 2001 European Football Championship for women. Concerts are also held in the Ostalb Arena, e.g. B. with Herbert Grönemeyer.

In 1947, the city of Aalen and the state forestry office agreed on a sports area on Rohrwang. After surveying work, extensive forest clearing and construction, the VfR stadium was inaugurated in 1949.
Extensive renovation work was carried out as early as 1964. The costs at that time amounted to around DM 300,000, new changing rooms and shower cubicles were built, among other things.January 28, 2024
