A.Teamers come together as cloud-based, modular teams on our team formation platform to work on problems they care about for forward-thinking companies—with the freedom, flexibility, and autonomy they crave. Over the last two years, we've grown exponentially — scaling to over 5,000 independent builders and over 250 teams deployed on missions across 35+ industries for startups, mid-market and public companies. A.Teams are building the future of vaccine manufacturing for Apprentice, the next generation of education on mobile for McGraw Hill, a revolutionary model for brick-and-mortar with Blank Street, and much more. We’re creating a new builder economy that will transform the way people work and companies build, and we’ve brought together an incredible team of people to help us do that—raising a $55 million Series A with investors like Insight Partners, Tiger, and Spruce House; future-of-work pioneers like Adam Grant, Dan Ariely and Joseph Fuller; and cultural leaders like Jay-Z’s RocNation, and founders and execs from CAA, Apollo, Upwork, Fiverr, and SpaceX. Listen to any podcast or talk by an AI technologist about AI's promise, and inevitably, they’ll bring up use cases in one industry: healthcare. But what do the healthcare workers and innovators think? How do the people working every day to apply this technology to their workforces think about its pitfalls and potential? On May 21st, we’re bringing together an all-star group of healthcare operators, innovators, and technologists to learn from their on-the-ground experience. Hear from: Candace McNulty and Ashley M. Head of Marketing at A.Team, Author of The Storytelling Edge

When best-selling author Daniel Pink gets writer’s block, he has a secret weapon, and it’s not AI. It’s a tiny red chair. The tiny red chair sits on his desk at all times. “When I'm stuck, I think, “Okay, imagine there's somebody sitting in that chair, and they're reading something I've written. What's that experience like? And am I wasting their time?” he told me. If you’ve read Pink’s work, you already know this relentless focus on his audience sets him apart. When reading his books, I’m often struck with the feeling that he wrote this for me. (Which is, objectively, a crazy and self-centered thing to think). But the tiny red chair isn’t the only piece of technology powering the prolific author’s creative process. AI has found its place, too—but within limits. Last week, in part 1 of our interview, I spoke with Pink about the future of creativity and the importance of taste in a world flooded with AI-generated content. This week, in part 2, I Pink reveals how he uses AI as a brainstorming partner, his #1 piece of storytelling advice, and the human qualities that will set creatives apart in an AI-driven world. Pink’s insights are incredible, and you won’t want to miss them — read this week’s newsletter to dig in.

    Founder & CEO of A.Team

Credit cards arrived in the 1950s, ATMs in the ‘60s, online banking in the ‘90s, and mobile banking apps about a decade ago. These innovations redefined banking over the last 75 years, influencing who led the industry. Now, AI is doing it again by transforming the entire FinTech landscape. A recent Evident AI report highlights banks and FinTech firms alike that are investing in research, patents, and AI ventures, setting the stage for profound transformations. But, while giants like JPMorgan Chase & Co., Capital One, and RBC are heavily investing in AI, the journey from research to implementation presents substantial challenges. Like, selecting the right AI partners, avoiding vendor lock-in, and overhauling infrastructures—all within the tightly regulated financial sector where the stakes involve real people's money, not just data points. So, how can leaders manage AI integration responsibly without compromising on ethics or efficiency? This month, A.Team is convening a diverse group of fintech executives, innovation experts, and AI pioneers in NYC for an invite-only salon dedicated to the future of finance. You’ll hear from Louie Celiberti from Guggenheim Partners, Nicole Casperson of Fintech Is Femme, Stephanie A. Rieben-de Roquefeuil, CEO & Cofounder at Diadem Capital, and Lisa Carmen Wang, founder and GP, as they uncover insights on: ▶ How FinTech firms can integrate AI to drive revenue without sacrificing ethical standards or operational efficiency. ▶ The importance of diverse perspectives in developing AI products, and how these efforts contribute significantly to economic growth. ▶ Real-world use cases where AI is already transforming financial services. ▶ We'll also explore how AI is supporting critical social issues, enabling broader access to loans and capital, particularly for underserved communities. 💬 If you’re innovating at the intersection of finance and AI in NYC and want to join the conversation, DM me for an invite or sign up here: https://hubs.la/Q02wH33_0 Now’s the time, because in ten years, these AI investments could very well distinguish the firms that thrive from those that don’t.

Two former Magic Leap executives wanted to build the world’s first augmented reality laptop. The vision was right out of Sci-Fi: Blur the boundaries between virtual and physical, offering a computing experience far beyond conventional screens. Sounds easy, right? Here’s the big question with spatial computing: How do you combine the portability of smartphones and the productivity of multi-monitor setups? Traditional laptops, while versatile, fall short of being truly mobile. Enter Sightful, and their signature product: Spacetop, the world’s first AR laptop. It’s like using a normal laptop — except instead of a screen, an enormous 100” curved display appears in front of you. You can move and pin windows, zoom in with simple gestures, and pin windows side-by-side. That means you get the ease and mobility of a laptop with the ergonomic relief and productivity boost of a home monitor setup. Creating such a game-changing piece of hardware presented many challenges. Chief among them was building an operating system that could integrate a seamless user experience. That’s where A.Team came in. Read the full story to find out how Spacetop pioneered a new category of productivity tools with the help of fractional experts: https://hubs.la/Q02w-8Pz0

The closest thing we have to an Oracle might be Daniel Pink — at least when it comes to the future of work. Seriously: His 2002 book, Free Agent Nation, predicted the freelance economy boom. Most people saw a few solopreneur lawyers, consultants, and writers working with the help of shitty broadband. Pink saw the future. He even predicted the job I have today at A.Team, bringing together elite "free agent" product builders as teams to build transformative products. Then, in 2005, he wrote a Whole New Mind, which predicted that automation and outsourcing would lead us to value creative right-brain skills over left-brain skills in the U.S. Re-reading it recently, I was awe-struck by how poignantly it captures the shift that AI is pushing upon knowledge workers today. It was written 20 years ago, but throw in some mentions of AI, and it feels like it could have been written yesterday. Oh, and all he’s done is write four beloved best-sellers since then. He's now also on my Mount Rushmore of interview subjects. Last month, I sat down with Daniel for A.Team to discuss how AI will change the future of work, the ways ChatGPT has impacted his creative process, his new column, and more. The conversation was so good I decided to break it into two parts. For part I, check out this week’s newsletter — and tag a friend who loves Daniel Pink in the comments!

FLEXIBILITY is key for attracting Gen Z (Zoomers) to your workplace: ✅ Gen Z thinks the workweek is too long. 80% want a 4-day workweek. ✅ Gen Z doesn’t want to be fully remote - so make the office experience worthy of the commute. 60% want a hybrid work model, 36% want to work fully in person, only 4% want to work fully remote. ✅ Why is this flexible schedule so critical? So, they can prioritize self-care: - Building relationships with friends to prevent loneliness - Focusing on real human (not online digital) connections - Creating purpose in their lives, connecting with their community - Prioritizing healthy choices about their sleep, exercise and nutrition "I don't want Z to stand for Zombie," said Gen Z Influencer, Jack Tarlton.
