Sir Jim Ratcliffe has ambitions to build a new stadium for Manchester United.

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, earlier this week, confirmed there is an 'opportunity' for the club to build a brand-new stadium that could house up to 100,000 spectators.

The Ineos chief, who completed a deal to secure a 27.7 per cent stake in the club last month, has made it clear that his preference is to build a new stadium, opposed to redeveloping and modernising Old Trafford. A task force has been set up to explore options to regenerate Old Trafford.

Speaking on the Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast, Ratcliffe said: "I mean we can refurbish the ground and we'll do a really nice job of that, it will be a fantastic stadium. And that would cost about a billion [pounds] to do that and the club can shoulder that burden.

"But you have got this opportunity if you choose to, to build a completely new ground because we have got enough space to build a completely new ground. If you built a completely new ground it would absolutely be state of the art, world-class, 90,000 or maybe even 100,000 (capacity)."

As a result OLBG, who have utilised Midjourney, an AI program, to visualise what a 100,000-seater 'New Trafford' would look like which includes the stadium having a state-of-the-art roof, have released images of what Ratcliffe's vision could look like.

Below, MEN Sport brings you four images of what 'New Trafford' could look like, created via the aforementioned AI program:
