Release Date & Production

Production of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV began in January 2023 out of GMC's Factory Zero plant in the Detroit-Hamtramck area. 

Three out of four trims were released early in 2023, just before Spring, for the 2X, 3X, and Edition 1. The final limited edition trim, the 3X Omega Edition, is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2024. While availability is still limited, you can now find GMC Hummer EV SUVs for sale at your local GMC dealership.

However, current reservation holders will receive earlier access and are highly recommended as availability is limited. The Edition 1 sold out when reservations opened in 2021-two years before release!

There are four total trim levels in the 2024 Hummer EV SUV lineup with ranging MSRPs.

The Hummer EV SUV range depends on the trim, but all offer convenient charging capabilities on 20-module Ultium Battery systems. The 2X is the only trim with two motors and has an electric driving range of up to 303 miles, while all other trims with three motors have up to 314 miles.

You get two charging speeds on all trims: Level 2 and DC Fast Charging (public charging). Level 2 chargers can charge up to 16 miles in one hour. DC chargers can charge up to 100 miles in 12 minutes. The Ultium Battery technology has an 11.5 kW output that can improve charging by 50% when hardwired. However, a 25ft charging cord for a simpler connection is available, too.

All trims also have One Pedal Driving and Regen on Demand available to help slow acceleration quickly. Through regenerative braking, it even charges your battery while decelerating simultaneously with free energy!
