Hello all

can you please advise. I have a Midas blenny that has been in my 75 gallon system for about a month and a half. Until this morning he has been perfect. This morning I noticed a large white mark on his side. This was not present last night.
Recent changes. I added a coral beauty on Thursday along with two small (.5 inch) clowns. All fish in my system have been purchased from Dr. Reefs Quarantined fish.

stats
Ammonia - 0
Nitirite- 0
Nitrate -15

Tank is about 3-4 months old.
Current stock
Diamond goby
2 clowns
Coral beauty
Midas blenny
Royal gramma
Nassarius snails
Turbo snail
Pom Pom crab

Salinity 1.024
Temp 77

Please let me know what you think. The Midas is about 3.5-4 inches. And the mark is pretty large. No other fish have marks or spots or anything. I’m personally thinking it’s a would from the coral beauty or from his chosen new home since he was kicked out of his other home by the coral beauty.

I will try to add more images when he stops going fast. He’s a nut.

Please for the future post pics under white lighting for clear assessments.
Appears to be a nick or injury which should heal its own. Keep an eye on area for healing and not becoming infected.

Good point. I appreciate the reply. Had me pretty concerned when I saw it this morning.
Side note do you have any recommendations for photo apps with an iPhone for tank pics.

rom injury. Have seachem kanaplex on hand in case it becomes infected. With good water quality it should heal

Just watch to ensure the spot doesn't grow larger, or that if new spots show up, or if it turns red, those can all be signs that the injury has become infected.

Looks like scratch injury, and if he is still eating well I probably will leave him there, just feed normally and keep good water quality, fish should be able to heal on their own. If you see there are cloudy, cotton-like thing build up and he stops eating, then you will need some treatment (maybe need to take hime out for quarantine)

Not that it is necessary, but I would boost the fish's immune system with the recommended supplements for an ill fish in the Fish Nutrition post.

Thank you for that info. Just grabbed a bunch of stuff to start doing what you recommended:)
