Tim Brayton Alternate Ending One can squint and see the version of Hellraiser: Revelations that's good. It's a very far distance form this one. Gabriel R Nearing the end of my Hellraiser marathon, I really hope the worst is over now. In order to be fair to this film, whose budget is laughably small, I have to judge it bit by bit, because as a whole oooohhhh, it sucks. The acting is pretty atrocious, there is no chemistry between these actors and the fact that some of the line deliveries made it into the final product just baffled me. New Pinhead is just all around bad, from costume to voice, just no comparison to Doug Bradley who passed on this POS. Some of the actors did ok, standout being Nick Eversman, which is good because he has the most screen time of anyone. With a better screenplay and a higher budget, this wouldn't have been half bad. Some scenes looked like they belong in a better film and the makeup effects on some characters (not Pinhead sadly) were surprisingly well done. Too bad all of that money went to making the gore better and not the horrendous dialogue. It surely isn't the worst movie I've ever seen but definitely the worst Hellraiser I've ever seen Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/15/24 Full Review Aidan M Awful movie, horrendous acting and somehow the worst film of an already awful franchise. So so poor. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/24 Full Review Mary S Where do I start......lol it was awful!!! Blahhhhh Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/25/24 Full Review Antisocial D I'm on a Hellraiser binge because of a YouTuber I watched who recommended the first one. I'm not a horror extremists or anything but I do enjoy a good anxiety inducing movie at unreasonable times. I watched the first one because of its impact within the horror genre but went into it blindly. The first 3 have a space on the Classic shelf for various obvious reasons. The next 5 after vary between Classic and what's happening here again...? This current one -- Revelations -- I...I just I don't even and this is number 9 out of 11. ELeVEn. i honestly think I started pondering Dimension's lifechoices once they made the 4th one with Bloodline - like I get what you were trying to do but... hmm. Either way the previous ones were on a different exsistence than Revelations. Most of the other comments on here sum it up pretty good. My take aways ~ 1) The found footage thing was cool for 2 minutes then it got annoying 2) Doug not being Pinhead just immediately turned me off. I think I verbally said "Oh, ew" out loud and immediately googled the cast list. Nothing against the guy who actually played him but there's no replacing the Doug 3) They did their effects pretty good. I appreciated the various gore scenes even though they were kinda plagiarism feely 4) The acting was okay for the first 2 minutes of the found footage sequence but once other characters were introduced I couldn't take anyone seriously 5) Mrs.Craven was just a no - I laughed at her a lot Idk. I like to watch movies in release order so I don't miss things but I definitely could've missed this one. i think I watched maybe 30 minutes of it then just fast forward through the rest of it. TLDR: If you want to make fun of a shiity remake of a popular movie series watch this but prepare to be irritated majority of the time. But only watch this if you've seen the first 3 Hellraiser movies so you can appreciate the ridiculousness of this version Okay, bye! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review John C We arrive, at last, at the absolute bottom of the barrel that is the Hellraiser franchise. Hellraiser: Revelations opens up with found footage video following two obnoxious young adults on a runaway road trip to Mexico. Their only aim, it seems, is to get laid and get wasted, presumably being as unlikable as possible in the process. Soon we see one of them using a puzzle box to summon a pathetic excuse for the Pinhead character. This pudgy-faced version of Pinhead has very clean teeth, unlike the rotten-toothed original. His costume and makeup look like they were acquired at a discount store for Halloween props, and his voice in no way compares to that of Doug Bradley. From this dismal point, the film descends inexorably into the nether reaches of embarrassment. Hellraiser: Revelations devolves into a sort of demented family soap opera, just with more stupid supernatural contrivances and more blood than your typical afternoon soap. The acting is generally awful, the plot (such as it is) is incoherent and frequently irrelevant, and the cardboard characters are so uninteresting and unsympathetic that any audience would struggle to care what happens to them. Unfortunately, the movie is too annoying and bland to fit into the "so-bad-it's-good" category. It is just a tedious waste of time. Unless you're a Hellraiser completionist, I recommend giving this one a miss. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/23 Full Review B Rad No Doug Bradley.....No Hellraiser.
