2001 Colani Trabant Speedster

Following the release of the 2001 Colani Trabant, a front-end conversion kit for existing Trabant cars designed by Luigi Colani, a more radical modification emerged in 2002: the Colani Trabant Speedster.

It's crucial to understand that the Speedster wasn't a standalone car but rather a further modification intended for existing Trabants. Building upon the previous design, Colani envisioned a much more dramatic transformation, featuring:

  • The removal of the rear roof and seats, creating a two-seater, open-top configuration.

  • A potential relocation of the engine to a central position behind the driver, aiming to improve weight distribution and handling.

However, information surrounding the Colani Trabant Speedster is scarce and lacks confirmation from reliable sources. There's no evidence of widespread availability or production, and its existence primarily resides in unconfirmed online content. Please comment below if more is known.
