I am working on a small form factor case (U2 servercase)
Due to the size of the case don't have the option of using a modular PSU (atleast haven't been able to find one)
The one I currently have has a few issues with connectors. So to connect my Graphics card I need adapters.
With the 2 adapters (2 molex to 6 pin & 2 molex to 8 pin) the problem should be fix but now cause of the size contraint I have miles of cable.

I have a bit of experience sleeving cables and resizing & creating my own adapter would cut down on that.
Looking at the adapters and layout of the connecter is made these diagrams. I just want to make sure that the diagrams line up probally and I didn't make a mistake.

The PSU has 2 * 8pin eps so I haven't decided if i should change 1 molex to 8 min or the other 8 pin.

* For the cut wires ill use a combination of wire cap and heat shrink.

Most adapters use 2 molex which as far as I can tell is so you don't over tax the molex cable.
My plan is to put these adapters on a dedicated cable each so I don't think ill run into that issue (correct me if I am wrong).

The required power is around 600 so that won't due but it looks intresting.

Careful with taking one wire and splitting it into multiple connectors. The whole reason for having multiple connectors is to supply more current than just one connector/wire can handle.

What's the video card?

I figured as much but that shouldn't be a problem unless I jurry rig both adapters on a single right?
The current Molex cables have 3 connetors with the adapters ill reduce that down to a single molex that then splits.

i would measure the space for the server power supply. 2U is a size rating, but afaik, there ARE standard ATX psu's that will fit it, or could fit it. using standard ATX can offer MANY more choices.

it seems 2U can be up to these heights 3.44” to 3.50” high. under 3.5 deep,
heres another option that is 2U

That card can peak near 300 watts. at 12v, that's 25 amps. For comparison, a 120v blow dryer at 1200watts only draws 10 amps. Best bet is to use a heavier guage wire then split it off at the 8 pin connector with standard ATX, or use one wire per connector. That's all the way from PSU to the card.

You'll need to do some math to make sure you have enough conductors and the correct size. Heat a wire up too much, melt the shielding and poof!

Molex specs are here: https://www.molex.com/pdm_docs/ps/PS-5556-001.pdf

That solves alot of issues.
Thanks for that now I don't need to mess about with adapters just to shorten some of them down a bit.
