Inno3D 6800LE 256mb gddr3 agp bios request

Hello!

I'm looking for a bios for an agp Inno3D 6800LE 256mb gddr3 (300/1000) card if anyone has one of these old guy, unfortunately I got with a Club3D 6800GT bios (which I also tried with 6800LE clocks, but it didn't make any difference), but sadly it's not stable everywhere, somewhere artifacts, probably not a perfect match, either in memory timings or other things. In the meantime, I've come to the conclusion that almost certainly the GT bios memory timings don't match this card, ui. if I reset the memory clock from 1000 to 550 (under 520 artifacts too), the artifacting disappears (even unlocked to 12/5). It was a similar situation back in the days of 8 and 9 thousand Radeons, if they didn't have their own bios, they would artifact even below the nominal clock... Thanks if you can help.

Old school card. I have a passive 6800 vanilla in a box somewhere. Massive chunk of copper on it.

In the dbase there are some, though not that exact card:

Can't you just edit memory frequency in whatever reference vBIOS to lower value (like 700 instead of 1000), and call it a day ?
vBIOS edit tool for this era of NV cards is called "NiBiTor"

Thanks, but unfortunately they are all gddr1 128mb cards (so they don't fit), this Inno is 256mb gddr3, kind of light GT.

With the included GT bios it works only in a very narrow band between 530-570, with artifacting above and below that, the official Inno clock rates would be 300/1000 by the way, which is unfortunately very far from it now (even under gddr1 clocks), if it would run at 900 I could live with that...

Expecting official clocks to work after almost 20 years is... something (especially when you have issues with artifacting, and this isn't your vintage tank like GF2 MX). Unless you are 100% sure this card is functional, I wouldn't assume a simple vBIOS flash can fix this (IF there even is a vBIOS with lowered memory speed for GDDR3 version).

Confirming what actual chips are under that heatsink would be my next action (if card is functional on at least one more platform).

There are 2.0 ns Hynix gdrr3 chips under the heatsink, so the factory 1000 should carry it. 3Dmarks, Furmark e.g. run without errors on it on 1000, but the artifact tester like Atitool immediately throws yellow dots. Since this is a LE card, which is supposed to have disabled pipes and rops because the gpu is not completely error free, not all of the things allowed by the GT bios can be disabled with rivatuner, and there is also the issue of memory timings, and the memory controller of the gpu itself. Of course, it is also possible that something is not 100% physically on the card (vrms, capacitors etc), but that can only be determined if you can try the original bios. Of course I tried it in several motherboards and with different power supplies, but it didn't change the situation, even though it was an old and relatively near peak card in its time it can still work smoothly at its nominal clock speed, if it doesn't, it usually fails on the start screen, but at the latest after installing the driver or starting a serious 3d application it tends to crash.

The only similar inno3D card verified BIOS is for the 6800 XT, which is also 8 pipes IIRC and a bit lower clock for memory (450/900) and a bit higher clock for the core (325MHz). It is a GDDR3 card, so it might work.

Thanks, but unfortunately this is a pci-e version and the card is agp.

I'm sorry, totally overlooked that... Well there's none other BIOS that's verified for inno3D..... I never had inno Geforce6, only 4Ti...

Try the V9999GE bios. It's a 6800 card with 6800 GT clocks

Thank you, this bios fits better to the card (voltage, clock rates of course I reset the inno3d to factory values with nibitor), on 850 it's definitely not artifacting the memory (Atitool artifact tester ran for 1 hour without errors at least), it might work on little bit higher, but I haven't been brave enough to try it right away. Only the GunMetal Benchmark refuses to start on it, everything else now seems flawless. So that means the card is probably good, I just need the original bios to be completely error free.

Can you use riva tuner to match the pipelines up as well? LE has 8 and that bios has 12 enabled? Think it should be possible to enable / disable blocks of 4 to test if they work or not in software?

With Rivatuner only pixel pipes, vetrex units can be turned off and on, not rops and others, but hardware masked units are not enabled by default anyway, but to answer your question, yes I tried to turn off all pixel pipes and vertexes (even the factory enabled ones) one by one before, but it didn't make any difference, the only thing I'm sure of is that one of the hardware masked pipe quads is definitely faulty.
