Camila Cabello may have already proved that she could do an amazing Hermione impression, but for her official debut as an actor, she'll be embracing some fairy godmother-inspired magic.

The "Havana" singer has been officially confirmed to star in an upcoming Cinderella film, directed by Kay Cannon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Camila will portray the role of Cinderella and help oversee the accompanying soundtrack.

There's no word on an official release date, but THR confirmed that this version will take inspiration from the classic fairytale. The movie will reportedly be a modern-day version of the classic, and of course, there will be an appearance from an evil stepmother, too. As THR points out, the idea for this version of the story came from producer James Corden, the host of Carpool Karaoke. Camila had previously appeared on Carpool Karaoke in October 2017.

Although Camila has made a habit of sharing her best acting impressions on her Instagram, the upcoming Cinderella will mark her first major movie role. Camila has of course had a stellar past few years: she released her debut solo album in 2018, and made a memorable appearance at the 2019 Grammys, performing "Havana" with special guests that included Ricky Martin and Young Thug.
