However, it is worth pointing out that the colour you see isn’t actually taken from your baby’s skin tone. It is simply added by the software when it creates the image. Ultrasound probes can’t collect any information about colour from inside your body.

You Will See Your Baby’s Face

Another big difference between medical ultrasounds and your 3D scan is that the images will focus on the outside of the baby. Instead of showing the baby’s internal organs, the 3D ultrasound will reveal your baby’s skin and face. It is this difference that can make the 3D scan such an amazing experience. Although seeing your baby during the 2D scans can be very emotional, there is nothing quite like seeing your baby’s face for the first time while he or she is still in the womb.
