Name: Ga-Gorib + Hidebehind

Alternate Names: Thrower Down, Behider, Hide Behind

Mythology: Ga-Gorib comes from African Mythology (Khoikhoi) and the Hidebehind is a Fearsome Critter Lumberjack Cryptid from North America.

Size: Both are large creatures, the size of trolls and ogres.

Environment: Jungles, pits, cliffs, forests, dark forests, caves

In Mythika: The Ga-Gorib is a magical gorilla-like creature that creates its bone-covered lairs within cliffs and pits, for this reason they are often caught by Nagual or Vish Kanya jungle tribes which place them in special pit-traps and feed them their prisoners and criminals. They are known under many names, Nependis, Aunyaina and Ogre Apes. Their strength is legendary and it is believed the unique boss Grendel is in fact a mutation of Ga-Gorib. Ga-Gorib look like monstrous gorilla’s but also have features of boars, like their tusks, teeth and hooves. Their magical skin takes on the properties of the attacks made against them, but only for a very short time, so if you throw a rock at its skin it will turn into a rocky substance for some seconds so repeat attacks do little damage to them.

Hidebehind are even more magical Ga-Gorib specimen, said to be captured Ga-Gorib that warlocks did horrid experiments on so their skin became even more powerful and magical. A hidebehind is the ultimate stalking machine, it can blend in with the environment like a chameleon but on its own unique way as not only the color of its skin changes but the entire structure. When a Hidebehind touches wood for example it will copy the structure into its skin so the entire skin will turn into the same wood, this goes for everything, so if a Hidebehind touches fire or ice it will turn into an elemental-like creature, they are very hard to kill. Fighting a Hidebehind is a true puzzle, as everytime you hit it with a magic or physical attack it’s defense will differ, hitting it with a iron blade will turn it into a living iron weapon, but attacking it next with fire will do it much damage but will also turn it into a fire elemental the next round. Have fun with the puzzle!
