Manchester United plays its home games in the biggest club stadium in England and Old Trafford could get even bigger.

This file photo taken on August 29, 2009 shows a general view of Old Trafford Stadium before the English Premier League football match between Manchester United and Arsenal.

Plans call for Old Trafford’s capacity, currently at 76,000, to rise to 88,000, according to the Daily Mail.  Once completed, Old Trafford would be second to only Wembley Stadium (90,000) as the biggest in the country.

Work is already underway to prep for the 12,000-seat expansion, according to the report.  The first 7,500 seats are expected to be added to the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand on south side of the stadium.
