Update your Female Celebrities Kissing at Award Shows slide shows accordingly, Internet! Tina Fey and Amy Schumer have joined the likes of Britney and Madonna, and Sandra and Scarlett, as the two shared what the Daily Mail is terming a “passionate smooch” onstage at the Peabody Awards last night, after Fey presented Schumer with an award for her Inside Amy Schumer.

While Fred Armisen hosted the proceedings, and handed out most of the awards himself, Fey stepped in to honor Schumer. “Amy Schumer is killing it, as the agents like to say. Usually they are lying. But in this case it is true. Amy is killing it. She is the biggest deal in comedy right now,” Fey said, before letting the crowd in on the lip-lock they were about to see. “I really wanted to come down here tonight, and in a Madonna kind of way try to like feed off of her youth and maybe suck her soul out in a very awkward, staged lesbian kiss. But when I pitched that idea to Amy's camp, they came back with such an immediate yes that it kind of grossed me out.”

Schumer thanked her team and her network (Comedy Central) during her acceptance speech, and was quite earnest about the award’s importance to her. “This is an award that you really want to get, so we really tried to get this award. We thought we were making this secret feminist show and people weren't going to catch on what we were doing, and they caught on very quickly and we're so glad that they did. We just wanted to make a show that would make people laugh and feel better and we really feel like we're doing that, so thank you so much for this award.”

Fey and Schumer recently appeared together in the Inside Amy Schumer sketch “Last Fuckable Day,” in which Schumer chances upon Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Patricia Arquette celebrating Louis-Dreyfus’s last, yes, “fuckable day” in Hollywood.
