Franko the puggle wants to be spoiled

Wroof. Yes, over here! It’s me, Franko. I am talking to you because, well, I am social with a Capital S. I am what you call a very friendly guy. Well, that personality trait should not surprise you. I am a puggle and we are known for being very gregarious dogs. Maybe that is because we are a cross between two really nice breeds: the beagle and the pug.

Besides being friendly, we puggles are known for being bright, curious, and sweet as honey. Once you meet me, I guarantee you won’t be able to resist my charm, not to mention my floppy ears. My foster says I am a small guy with a huge personality. I don’t know what that means, but I say, spoil me rotten, please. Pet me, play with me, cuddle me, talk to me, and love me.

I also have a fabulously sensitive, wrinkly nose that I enjoy putting to good use. When I get to a new place, I sniff it up and down from top to bottom. I am curious, for sure. Good thing I am also housebroken, polite, and well behaved. What a guy!

So far, I can honestly say that I can get along with everyone I have met and I’m quite adaptable to new things. For example, I made myself right at home with my new foster family. Although I don’t expect to spend much time here, I let them know right off that I was the prince of the house by making myself comfy with them on the sofa so we could watch television together. Did I mention I’m a lap dog?

Next, I made friends with their seventy-pound lab and tried out all his toys. He seems to like me and has been pretty generous with his toys. Since sharing is a trait that I need to practice a bit more, I’m glad my new lab friend is a good example.

Then, when it was time to turn in for the night, I jumped right up on the bed and made myself comfortable. Luckily I am small and the bed was big because that made four of us: me, the 70-pound lab, and the two people who are fostering me. As I say, your house is my house. Don’t you agree?

So, I guess you can figure out I am a pretty mellow guy. I am well behaved on a leash and know how to sit on command. Now, I am learning the command "off" because I jumped on the counter in front of my foster parents the very first day. Oops. I should have done that when they weren’t looking. Silly me. I am only two years old, so I guess I have a few things to learn. Fortunately, I am pretty smart and eager to learn. In fact, in addition to some better table manners, I’d love to learn some fun tricks. I have lots of energy and respond well to treats, so I think it would be fun learning new things together.

What do you think? Are you ready to invite me into your life? Can we take walks, play, cuddle, and be lifelong friends? I may be short, but I intend to have a long life with you. If that sounds good to you, give PAWS a call and ask to meet me. Say "Franko sounds like a prince and I want to take him home." But, call soon because I can already hear the phone ringing.
