7A SOLID BASE FOR SUCCESS:THE IVECO DAILY.The DAILY is a van unlike any other. It’s a light commercial vehicle with the drivingcomfort and driving characteristics of a passenger car. This combination makes theDAILY the ideal partner for fi re brigades.PLAYING IT SAFE IN THE FACE OF DANGER.A solid chassis frame made of high-strength steelensures robustness, reliability and durability – characteristicsthat clearly distinguish the DAILY frommany other vans. The innovative suspension of thefront axle makes the DAILY extraordinarily agilewithout having to compromise on safety or drivingcomfort. The payload capacity of the DAILY farexceeds its nearest competitor. With a gross vehicleweight now raised to 7 t, the payload capacity hasincreased by 470 kg to maximum 4.7 t. As a result, theDAILY is encroaching into areas previously reservedfor 7.5-tonne trucks. Fire brigades are taking advantageof the opportunity to haul even more gear and amore comprehensive range of equipment.The four doors of the double cab as standard are idealfor fi re fi ghters: alternate entry and exit on both sidesis no problem at all. The engines of the DAILY modelseries comply with the practical requirementsencountered during operations. High torques availableacross a very broad range enable rapid deploymentwhile providing optimal comfort and low exhaustemissions at the same time.All-terrain capability on requestThe DAILY is also available with anAchleitner PIAS all-wheel system as anoption. Twin-tyres with max. 7 t grossvehicle weight; single-tyres with max. 5.5 t /6.1 t gross vehicle weight.1 High-terrain capability, single-tyred all-wheel chassis withcompact, individually configurable superstructure.2 With the DAILY Integrale, the crew cab is integrated in theAluFire3 superstructure. The equipment compartments arepositioned low behind the rear axle; the generously proportionedcrew area has a continuous floor and offers lot of space.Above, large glass surfaces provide for a bright cab interior andalso guarantee optimal visibility in all directions.3 The driver’s cockpit is clearly and neatly arranged. The instru -ments – including the MAGIRUS HMI control unit – are nonreflective and easy to read. As an alternative to the manualtransmission, an IVECO AGile automatic transmission is alsoavailable.3

8 BODYWORK CONCEPT // ALUFIRE 3BUILD ON THE ORIGINAL:ALUFIRE 3.MAGIRUS is the inventor of the aluminium superstructure for fire fighting vehicles.Now in its third generation, the AluFire system has proven itself a thousand times over –more versatile, intelligent, effective and successful than ever.MUCH MORE THAN THE SUM OF INNOVATIVEDETAILSBased on the experience with the successful AluFiresystem, the third generation AluFire 3 has beencompletely redesigned. Every detail of the entiresystem reflects a focus on functionality and practicalbenefits for the user in everyday operations.One of the main strengths of AluFire 3 is its flexibility:the modular arrangement of the basic hardware andsoftware makes it possible to implement optimal solutionsto address completely different needs, requirementsand expectations. There is one standardisedsystem – encompassing all weight classes and vehicletypes, from TSF (portable fire pump vehicles) to HLF(technical assistance tank pumpers) and from 4- to40-tonne weight.Special materials and structures specifically developedfor MAGIRUS have been designed to withstand highstress over the long-term.Refined down to the smallest detail, AluFire 3 is asophisticated superstructure system that anticipatesthe needs of the users. But high-tech electronics hasnot an end in itself, in fact it is specifically targeted toincrease, support and ensure functionality. One uniquefeature is the MAGIRUS CAN bus control system:redundant data lines for all of the main functions (e.g.pump function) in combination with highly intelligentsplitter modules ensure extremely high reliability andexcellent fault management. ALTERNATIVE PUMP CONCEPTSPortable fire pumpFor operation within a superstructure, theMAGIRUS FIRE is the best portable fi re pump onthe market, as it can be used in continuous operationwithout the need for hearing protection.An integrated exhaust pipe carries exhaust gasesaway. That means the portable fi re pump can beoperated right from the moment the rollershutters are opened. The portable fi re pump isconnected to the water tank and to the rapidwater delivery device or (as an option) to thequick attack hose reel. The water is supplied fromthe water tank; it is also possible to draw waterfrom hydrants, open bodies of water or otherpumps. All of the required piping and fi ttings areprovided.11Permanently installed MAGIRUS pumpThe low pump control stand is ergonomically designedfor easy operation. The pump valve on theA suction inlet permits an inlet pressure of up to12 bar. That means there’s also no problem withhigh hydrant pressures or pumping water over longdistances. The versatile system can be customisedto satisfy fire services requests and local regulations.
