Review: B&O unveils BeoVision Avant 75

|

The Avant family has a new member. After launching Avant as a 55-inch Ultra HD TV earlier this year and adding a 85-inch model recently, B&O is expanding the line-up with a 75-inch TV.

Bang & Olufsen revived its Avant series earlier this year as an Ultra HD TV. At CES, Bang & Olufsen has announced the new 75-inch version of the Avant. The Avant series has also received a CES Innovation Honoree Award.

Ultra HD content should look amazing in 75 inches, even though it is still hard to come by. That is expected to change in the coming year.

BeoVision Avant 75 uses a direct LED backlight, just like the 85 inch version. The full-array backlight can reproduce deeper blacks and higher contrast because of a local dimming system. The 55-inch is using standard edge LEDs.

Bang & Olufsen says that Avant 75 is only 2x8cm wider than the former 55-inch BeoVision 7-55 and 65-inch BeoVision 4-65. Just like the other Avant models the new Avant 75 is mounted on a moving stand. The TV can also be wall-mounted.

Bang & Olufsen has also prepared an update for the BeoRemote app, which is now available for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets. One of the new features is MyButtons, which allows the user to pre-define how the Avant starts up - for example in one of the music apps. The app, which has received a graphical facelift, also shows a full channel guide with channels names.

BeoVision Avant 75 will be available at the Bang & Olufsen stores starting late February for 13995 Euro with the BeoRemote One. The motorized floor stand and the motorized wall-bracket is available for 2095 Euro.
